# Is there a way to replace background with transparency

Can we somehow use `deepAR.backgroundReplacement` with a transparent image to make the rendered background transparent, showing the HTML content beneath the canvas?

Hi, while it is theoretically possible to force a transparent background into the deepar effect, the output video stream will still be encoded as a video so it would not display the transparency. You would need a different way to encode and read it.
